A photographic exhibition on the new Italian generation

Comune di Roma - Italia Assessorato Cultura
Monday, 15 February 2010

ROME - From the 22nd of February to the 31st of March the photographer Giorgio De Camillis will hold an exhibition on the new Italian generations. His 50 shoots go behind the colour of the skin or the physical features of the subjects that will be displayed in the Casa della Memoria e della Storia (Rome).

The exhibition is part of a series of photographic expositions on the changes Italy is undergoing thanks to the arrival of new population and cultures which are giving different shape to the country. The first edition was held in Treviso in September.

The main idea of De Camillis is that Italian society can become a real multiethnic society only by understanding and appreciating others identities. According to the author, the integration should not be seen as assimilation but as cultural interchange.

The exposition has different sections:
- We were born Italian
- We become Italian
- Italian for one day
- We work in Italy

Entrance is free and you can visit the Exhibition from 9.00 a.m. to 19.00 p.m.

Address: Casa della Memoria e della Storia, via s. Francesco di sales 5 (Roma - Trastevere).
