NAPLES - Several parts of the new commercial jet plane CSeries, a single-aisle airplane with 100 to 149 seats that will enter service in 2013, will be produced and assembled in the Italian and Tunisian plants of the Italian aviation company DEMA. The Italian company has signed two contracts with Bombardier Aerospace, for the supply of six components of the new airplanes. The contracts have a total value of 300 million USD. According to DEMA, all the group's plants will be involved in the Cseries programme. The engineering units in Italy and Canada will be responsible for design and industrialisation, while the parts will be produced and assembled in the Italian and Tunisian plants. The Italian company is responsible for the design, industrialisation and production of floors, safety doors, standby generator doors and landing gear doors, as well as the industrialisation and production of the roof and the landing gear housing. "Such an important project is a crucial step in the company's internationalisation, a long-term goal" said DEMA vice executive president Domenico Taraschi. "Our strategic goal is to develop relations with the big international groups and to increase our turnover on those markets". (ANSAmed).
