DAMASCUS - Syriàs Lattakia port registered record revenues in 2009, which amounted to 64 million dollars.

The Italian Trade Commission in Damascus reported that last year the number of ships which moored in the Syrian port was greater than 1,683, 22% more than in 2008.

The Italian Trade Commission specified that in 2009 Syriàs authorities gave way to a number of projects aimed at rehabilitating port infrastructures and developing human resources. 7.92 million dollars were allocated to the projects, 7.81 of which have already been spent.(ANSAmed).
